Petition

A petition has been raised with Surrey County Council to request an "upgrade" (i.e. resurface/improvement) of the Hatches Bridleway Path. The Background has info on why the path needs to be resurfaced.

The wording of the petition is:
We the undersigned petition Surrey County Council to Upgrade The Hatches Bridleway BW19
The hatches bridleway between Frimley Green and Farnborough North station (http://goo.gl/maps/kwgbH) is a narrow tarmac path with grass/mud verges. In the winter, the grass/mud takes over making it very difficult, especially for pedestrians who have to negotiate their way across the puddles and mud. The path is narrow so difficult for cyclists to get past pedestrians which sometimes causes conflict. https://plus.google.com/u/1/photos/101461883595850712689/albums/5968136055950516433
We would kindly request that the council consider upgrading the path in the next budget year, or at least reserve funding for improvement in the near future.
An ideal outcome for many people would be a Shared Use route for Pedestrians & Cyclists, perhaps with a simple white line along the centre to segregate the flow of traffic. i.e.https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/9179/shared-use-routes-for-pedestrians-and-cyclists.pdf

Please sign the petition to show Surrey County Council how important this improvement to the Hatches path is to you.

The petition ends on 16th November 2014, so let's see how much support we can get. Please also share this with your friends & family to spread the word. Many thanks for your support!
